As pressure from global industry and development increases, the need to develop and expand in the fields of transport infrastructure, energy and power, industry, and residential and recreational development is evident. The importance of effective, efficient planning has never been so clear.
Legislative and public demand for projects to be planned, built and operated with minimal disturbance to environmental, social and cultural resources has increased. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is widely becoming accepted as the tool used to address these impacts.
EIA is used to identify the environmental and social impacts of a project prior to decision-making. It aims to predict environmental impacts at an early stage in project planning and design, find ways and means to reduce adverse impacts, shape projects to suit the local environment and present the predictions and options to decision-makers.
At RSK Carter Ecological, our team of project managers works closely with developers, planners, engineers and architects amongst others to ensure development schemes are designed with practical ecological interests in mind. Good working relationships are also developed with nature conservation organizations and other consultees.
